3 Reasons You Should Shop at La Braderie de mode québécoise

In my books, spring officially kicks off once La Braderie de mode québécoise event gets going!

Starting this Thursday, April 19  until Sunday, April 22, Montreal fashionistas/barganistas will be heading to the Bonsecours Market where several dozens of fave local brands will be offering their stylish duds at a whopping discounted price from 50 to 80 per cent!
Now in it's 35th season (bravo Anne de Shalla!) the shopping event has become more than a fashion favourite. This edition is without a doubt the one to attend as it's full of great surprises!

Here are Top 3 Reasons You Should Attend La Braderie de mode québécoise

#1 Leave the guilt and confess!
For the first time, La Braderie is teaming up with LouLou magazine and seeking shoppers to star in video diaries by sharing their fashion finds. As a "parody" to the blockbuster and bestselling books "Confessions of a Shopaholic", those that shop on the Saturday and Sunday afternoon, will have the chance to "confess" their latest discoveries. What's even better, unlike the film, you'll feel glee with your guilt-free selections.
(The confession booth will be located near the bottom of the staircase.)

 #2 Gifts and more gifts!
Those that attend on the Friday will receive some surprise gifts!! Imagine, a treat for just showing up!

 #3 Spotlight on rising stars!

In its mission to support and promote up-and-coming local talents, La Braderie is putting together a space dedicated to 11 emerging and newly established designers titled "Relève créative".

I'll be once again the English blogger for the event! Like last season, I'll post style guides on where to find the latest fashions to score the best spring 2012 looks. Also, I'll be co-hosting the "Confessional Show" and looking for stylish ladies to share with me their great purchases! You might spot me as well ranting on my wonderful buys :)

See you there and Happy Shopping!

BONSECOURS MARKET (350 rue St-Paul Est)
Thursday, April 19 + Friday,  April 20 (Door Prizes!): 10am - 9pm
Saturday,  April 21: 10am - 6pm (Confessional Show, 2-6pm!)
Sunday,  April 22: 10am - 5pm (Confessional Show, 1-5pm!)

Montreal Fashion Week F2012, beauty backstage

It's around that time of year where us gals are longing to strut our warm-weather wardrobe and matching spring bright beauty looks (pastels, neons, flower-power prints anyone?)

If you are in the mood to switch up your style this season, how about looking even further than this summer and draw inspiration from Fall 2012's dramatic and daring beauty looks for when the occasion calls to be a little bit bold and whole lot of beautiful.

Next week I'll be featuring a "How To Get The Look" of smoldering eyes, two-tone lips, and vavavavoom hair for you to try now and wear now.

In the mean time, scope out the magical frenzy at this past Montreal Fashion Week Fall 2012 featuring the beauty looks created by head MUA Amélie Ducharme and head hairstylist Denis Binet using CoverGirl and Pantene Pro-V products.

Enjoy!

Tried&Tested: Elancyl's Cellu Slim anti-cellulite products

Last week, the mercury reached a record-high of 25°! The fancy reality is that we're only a couple of days into the spring season! It doesn't take long for us gals to shed our cocoon coverups for figure-flaunting fashion. But are we in toned-and-tight shape to don such attire? I know I'm not quite there. However I've discovered Cellu Slim by Elancylan innovative anti-cellulite line, that could fast-track my bod to a firmer and smoother silhouette.

Before you pass the collective oh-yeah-another-anti-cellulite-cream judgment, I invite you to read my experience where I took part in a 14-day challenge testing and documenting my journey with Elancyl's Cellu Slim product line. The interactive blog is hosted on the Chatelaine.com website and it features the experience of five other Canadian bloggers.

Elancyl's Cellu Slim line consist of using the Activ' Slimming Massage (aid of glove and gel) along with a cream in the morning. Easy to apply, smells great, and doesn't leave a film or greasy residue. Also once a week, they recommend using an exfolient that boosts the epidermis and your skin will absorb the product better.
What's best, it actually WORKS! I won't steal the punch line, but after four days of use, which you can read in my latest entry, I saw significant results. The cream is formulated with two active ingredients, coffee and cecropia, that destock stubborn fat. The line promises to reduce the appearance of cellulite and all the while providing a slimmer and smoother silhouette.

Some fashion inspiration from Montreal designers (Mulcair, MARTIN LIM, and UNTTLD) to embrace the look of slim-and-trim thighs!

[WANNA KNOW] What has been your experience with cellulite? Have you ever tried products to reduce the appearance of cellulite? What’s your attitude towards this type of beauty products: see them as miracle creams or just another beauty fad?

Top 3 Picks from Diesel's Fit Your Attitude

Stylish denim brand Diesel has recently launched a new women's collection 'Fit Your Attitude' that matches your colourful character to one of their six sleek cuts. Lately it seems that the fashion industry is taking cue from Gen Y's influential individualistic outlook to drive their latest launches (as seen in Aldo's new fragrance collection where your personality is at the forefront to select from one of their three offerings). Quite clever if you ask me since fashion should always be an artistic form of expression to shine one's personae!

Montreal In Fashion along with a bevvy of other bloggers were invited to style and flaunt our derrieres in the 'Fit Your Attitude' line - Grupee, Getlegg, Bootzee, Highkee, Myguy, and Flairlegg - treating us to an exclusive photo shoot session held at their Diesel Montreal Flagship boutique with photographer Jimmy Hamelin and beauty by makeup artist Marco Marsolais.
Blogger Lolitta Dandoy from Fashion Is Everywhere getting the beauty treatment from MUA Marco Marsolais
Josiane Stratis from Ton Petit Look strutting stuff  for Jimmy Hamelin.
Carrie MacPherson from Zurbaines strikes a pose.
I requested an orange-crush pout to match my bohemian rhapsody style!

FUN FASHION FACT Diesel took the measurements of over 20,000 women to get these six fits down right!!

Based on an extensive research, they've come with a unique design that will compliment, flatter, and enhance our feminine curves:
#1 A higher yoke construction for better support that lifts to a curvier derriere. Your jeans will never slide down when you sit down- hallelujah!!
#2 Slimming side-seam placements that create a slender leg look.
#3 A comfy belt design that doesn't leave any pesky marks on the waist.
My feminine and confident side beams in Bootzee, while my fashionable flare shines in retro chic Flairlegg, and I can't deny my inner free spirited child to rock in Grupee.

Rocking the iconic 70s bell bottom cut with Diesel Flairlegg denim.

'Fit Your Attitude' price range: $150 to $350
Available at 2114 de la Montagne, H3G 1Z7
