IN: BARILÀ SPRING/SUMMER 2013 COLLECTION

 

Claudia Barilà presented the spring/summer 2013 collection of her eponymous label yesterday evening in the lofty space of design studio L'Eloi. Like her notable sweatshirt line La Montréalaise, the collection has everything a stylish girl in the city will want to wear. Staged to really show the clothing, models posed in sleek lace, printed tropical pieces, and lightweight chambray denim. The cuts were effortless and oversized designed in the coveted asymmetrical hemline, roomy jumpsuits, and shirts buttoned up for that cool effect. A favourite was a matching sheer lace top and bottom in black designed in a herringbone pattern that's perfectly stylish and convenient to wear when the summer heat gets going.

The styling was sleek with one hoop and cross earrings along with ALDO on-trend flatforms and contrast heel styles. The beauty was very 80s inspired with nude eyes, defined cheekbones, and dark bold lips complemented with a slicked-back mane or a young Brooke Shields type waves.

ONE TO WATCH: DESIGNER VFRANZ AT YELLOWFASHION

 

 

Yelloweek by Veuve Clicquot is well underway. The festivities was launched at the Birks boutique with YellowFashion where four Montreal designers - Helmer Joseph, VFranz, Elisa C-Rossow, and Natalia Baquero - told the tale of La Veuve Clicquot through their exquisite creations. Seasoned veteran Helmer Joseph created a remarkable crystal sleeveless mini dress which was in a similar design spirit as his white bolero that is currently being exhibited at Musée du costume et du textile du Québec.

 

Recent LaSalle College graduate, designer VFranz, stole my fashion heart with his column canary dress embellished with gems for shoulder pads. Giving new meaning to the much coveted side-boob, the style was structured with only nylon thread to keep the two panels together. This has Gwyneth Paltrow's name all over it!

Veuve Clicquot is launching the summer right IN Montreal with their fashionable and fun happening called Yelloweek. Beginning as of Tuesday, May 14 and ending Saturday, May 19, 2013, the makers of the fine champagne will host a celebration of the arts, fashion, gastronomy, and lifestyle.

Yellow FASHION

Held at the Birks jewelry boutique, four Montreal designers - Helmer Joseph, VFranz, Elisa C-Rossow, and Natalia Baquero - will tell the tale of la veuve, Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, through their creations. Each design will be complemented by a Birks yellow diamond.
