"You either know fashion or you don't"

Mrs. Anna Wintour knows fashion as depicted in The September Issue documentary of the journey of producing the unprecedented biggest Vogue issue ever published- the thing weighed almost 4lbs! Directed by RJ Cutler, he had carte-blanche and filmed for about 8 months of footage of the making of the 800-page September ’07 edition. The Canadian premier was featured during the closing of MFW 17 at Cinémathèque Québécoise on October 16.

The movie confirms our belief in the Devils-Wears-Prada persona- she is cold, tough as nails shielded in her signature well-coiffed bob and oversize black glasses. Since Vogue is deemed as the style bible, she is definitely the deity of fashion for what is yeah or nay along with a following of disciples adhering to her every wish (even Oscar de la Renta listens obediently).

Surprisingly, she has an opposing force that isn’t inhibited to stand her own. Grace Coddington is a former model turned bohemian Creative Director at Vogue. With her brazen red hair, she is a delight to watch.

Even more surprisingly, the ice queen as a softer side seen in tender moments with her daughter. In her defence, to rise to the top, you can’t necessarily be Mr. Nice Guy. Besides, there will not be as much hoop-la on her demeanour if she was a man.

Overall, it is a must see for the fashionistas at heart!

Eve Gravel’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection brought you on a melodic fanfare debuting with a spring-meadow wedding dress ending on a stark funeral attire clad with umbrella and all.

The assortment displayed great items that come spring all stylistas will be flaunting.

There was the usual suspect of the ubiquitous Balmain-influence of the strong shoulder and military influence (or is that from MJ???).

It's that time of year again where editors, buyers and dire fashionistas come in throng to soak in the best that Montreal has to offer in style, fashion and glitz!

The 17th edition of Montreal Fashion Week (MFW) in collaboration with P&G Beauty begins October 13 to 15 2009. Held at Marché Bonsecours, MFW 17 will feature a roster of renowned Mtl designers such as Denis Gagnon, Andy Thê-Anh and Envers by Yves Jean Lacasse (Marie St-Pierre's show was cancelled at the 11th hour). International talents from Tokyo, Paris and Saint-Petersburg will also presenting in the framework of Le Showroom where buyers have the opportunity to meet the designers up-close and personal.

I’m especially looking forward to eyeing Miss Mak DESIGNS lavish show. The creator is a young accessory designer with a stylishly bright future.

This week is sure to be filled with excitement, martinis and heavy concealer!
