411 on Elin Kling for H&M

Blogging is fun. But to turn this creative passion into a lucrative endeavor might be a bit more daunting- but doable.
After collaborating with a slew of luxe designers, H&M opted to create an exclusive collection with Swedish blogger ELIN KLING.
I chatted with H&M's Sweden PR gal Sofia Jegerborn for the why and how of it all.

Why did H&M choose to collaborate with Kling?
We always strive to surprise our customers, and it felt great to do a local collaboration with a Swedish fashion profile like Elin Kling.  We've been wanting to do an interesting project with her as Elin's followers are similar to H&M's target market making it a perfect fit.

Why is the line only available in Sweden?
We decided to present the collection solely in Sweden since Elin is a Swedish fashion blogger and her followers are mostly located in Sweden.

How would you describe the collection?
The collection consists of nine fashion pieces and two accessories, and is a modern, light and minimalistic collection with bohemian influences. The saying “less is more” gets an important meaning. The result is a strong and clear collection, where silhouette and materials are more important than decoration. The details are well considered and discrete, such as the un-even hem on the washed leather-jacket, the hidden chain at the neckline on one of the dresses, and the raw edge on the wide pants. The balance between the hard, tough and sculptural, and the soft, draped and feminine suits both H&M and Elin perfectly.

What item is the must-have?
The leather jacket. It's so Elin!

Does H&M plan on collaborating with other bloggers? Any in North America?
It's too early to say, as long as our customers appreciate our collaborations we will continue to keep them coming!

[WHAT SAY YOU] Which fashion or design brands would you like to collaborate with?

Neat blog, Candace. I'm in your editing class and thought I'd check out your blog (you mentioned it during the first class). I think it's impressive that you were able to get the H&M interview, and the fashion profiles you have are interesting and fun. I hope you too can turn your blog into a lucrative business (while enjoying what you are doing).
