NAIL IT: Colorful Graphic Nails Tutorial

As most of you know, I like sporting multi-hued nails. It actually began about two years ago after a trip to beauty-heaven Pharmaprix, I came back home with two new polishes that I was dying to try on. I simply couldn't pick which one to wear first, so I chose both of them- sometimes Life does allow you to have it all!

Lately, I've been experimenting with different nail designs (must be in my genes, my mom is a trained manicurist!)
I came up with this pretty neat graphic look. I chose three different tones of blue, but feel free to try complimentary colors for a bolder effect.

*NOTE- I didn't use any decals or tape, but they could come in handy for exact precision lines.

Here's what you will need:
  • Base and top coat, the 2-in-1 polishes make everything easier;
  • Nail file;
  • Buffer block- they leave nails shiny and provide a smooth surface for polish. My fave is the 4-step buffer as it can also be used as a nail file;
  • Cuticle cutter;
  • Cuticle pusher;
  • Three (3) different nail colors;
Before you begin, soak hands in lukewarm water for about 10 minutes. I like adding a drop of conditioner to moisturize my nails.

Take your time!
You can always place tape in the middle of the nail for more precision. If you do, ensure that polish is completely dry before you remove the tape.

I just love this quaint ceramic bird that I got at Zone boutique!

For some helping guidance, place a half-moon cut-out strip on nail once polish is completely dry, and then apply color to tip.

TIP: Always, and I mean a-l-w-a-y-s apply a second coat! Your polish will last longer and it provides reinforcement for anti-breakage.
Also, never forget the top coat for a shiny finish.

That's it, easy breezy! Hope you enjoyed and looking forward to hearing your feedback. If you have any cool nail designs up your sleeve, let a gal know :)
