FabFemmes: shopping event celebrating Women's Day

I haven't blogged in a while. A matter of fact, I haven't been Facebooking nor Tweeting much either. Fear not, I'm not turning my virtual back on the online world, simply been CRAZY busy with an event that I'm organizing with fellow fashion blogger Marjorie's Closet.

Our happening is called FabFemmes- a fashionable shopping event celebrating the International Women's Day this upcoming Tuesday March 8. Coincidently, this year marks the 100th anniversary of this global day celebration.
So how did the idea come about you ask? Well it all started with a Mosaik Montreal sequin raglan sleeves top. You know how we gals are, always chatting about sparkly things!!
Right before the Holidays, I encountered Marjorie at the hair salon. She complimented my top and I informed her that it's a Mosaik creation and she should contact them to host one of their shopping parties called Mode et Canapés.
Marjorie having a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit, expressed: "How about we organize a little something and have it held at a fancy hotel suite?"
Light Bulb!!! From there, the idea began and flourished to become FabFemmes.

VENDORS
FabFemmes will be held at chic and hip Hotel Chez Swann where women will indulge in Marcelle and Rouge Nail Bar beauty stations and shop for fashionable brands at a great discounted price.
The evening is sure to be a glam girls's get-together and an evening of Fun, Fashion and plenty of Festivities!!

SPONSORS
We couldn't have created this celebration without the help of others! I truly believe that all genuine wishes to the Universe will be answered. Marjorie and I only had a dream and so many companies took a leap of faith to help us and sponsor our event.

SO FRESH: Bill Cunningham New York Trailer

Fashion shows are definitely on the street. Always has been and always will be. - Bill Cunningham

Before the The Sartorialist, there was Bill Cunningham- the New York Times fashion photographer know for his street style pics.
Based on the trailer, Cunningham seems witty and jovial with a sharp eye for style. He even has Queen Bee Wintour in a fussy if ever her attire is not picture worthy!

The release date is set for April 2011.

Enjoy!

Triptyqu3 presents Black Light [DAY 4]

To say that I'm a fan of Triptyqu3 is probably an understatement! I'm truly fond of their creative vision and their passion for promoting our local talent in the world of fashion, design and the arts.
Within the framework of Montreal Fashion Week, the webazine presented their 14th edition titled Black Lights with stoic models posing for the crowd and cams. This time around, they collaborated with designer Dane Richards, stylist Simon Venne and photographer Yann Ostiguy who created the images of the editorial.

The fashion film, directed by Gabriel Breault-Tardif, is pure poetry in motion. The organic expression and somber universe is a visual art to be seen.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY LOVELIES!

Barila Fall/Winter 2011.2012 collection [DAY04]

Barilà, a crowd fave on the Montreal Fashion Week circuit, showed their Fall/Winter 2011.2012 collection to a pack house that oohed and aahed at every muff, faux fur cape and flattering frock. Targeting “the girl looking for an affair with colour”, I fell in love with the rich teals, burgundy, dusty rose to the camels and grey. Barilà signature sassy and sophisticated line featured elongated silhouettes and showcased ultra suede shorts, corduroy pants, lace and chiffon dresses and faux leather long skirts (like Stella McCartney, Barilà never uses animal products). If the clothes weren't exciting enough, the heels also took center stage as several models fell victim to the slight oversize shoes!
Nice nod to all the headwraps and floppy hats worn with scarves reminiscent of the late Little Edie in her Grey Gardens hay days.
70s inspired it was, fit for the kloset of a career girl fashionably knowing that she’ll be making it after all!
