What's In Fashion Montreal: Theophilus London at Club Soda, Montreal Jazz Festival

If you don't know the bleeping blapping coolness of THEOPHILUS LONDON than it's time that you do. Part of the musical acts of the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Brooklyn rapper took center stage to a pack house at Club Soda yesterday June 30.
Rapping over new wave 80's electropop, London was full of infectious energy that captivated the crowd to follow his beat. 
Let alone his musical talent, the boy has style! Donning a gold pimp hat and showcasing two outfit changes- I so appreciate that!- he knew how to dazzle the crowd with his fashion sense along with rhythmic dance moves.
The next album release set for July 19, Timez are Weird these Days is sure to propel him to stardom. Watch for THEOPHILUS LONDON because he's going to be mega big. I'm tickled pink that I was able to see him up-close-and-personal and... that he sent moi a Facebook friend request!!! I know trivial but still fun :)

I ran into my darling friend Beatrice (seen on right) and her sis who both will be playing at Le Piranha Bar Saturday, July 9.

Passionate about writing, fashion, design, music, and cultural happenings;
Knowledge and strong interest for social media networks;
Resides in Montreal;
Available 5-15 hours per week (depending if covering an event).

What's In Fashion: Versace for H&M

After Lanvin, Jimmy Choo, and Karl Lagerfeld H&M has announced that they are in cahoots with legendary Italian brand Versace set to launch this November! Yes expect to see lots of sassy and shiny pretty things at H&M pretty little prices. By the looks of the pics, there are  lots of leather, metallic detailing, and curve-hugging dresses all very iconic of Donatella's signature style. A line for women, men and selected pieces for the home will be available in 300 stores and online.
The Versace for H&M collection will be available at the Montreal H&M downtown location (1100 Sainte-Catherine St W.)


Don't fret if you don't have the stamina to wait in line for D-Day, Versace for H&M is also creating a Spring 2012 collection which you'll be able to purchase online only.

Jean Paul Gaultier in Montreal [part 01]

Somebody pinch me! This past weekend, Jean Paul Gaultier made a special meet-and-greet with fashion fans at the Holt Renfrew Montreal store. Being in the same vicinity with a creative G O D does something to your psyche. One, I'm reminded that the key to success always lies upon following one's own passion, and two, borrowed from idol Jeanne Beker, to never "be afraid, and never give up!" as your talent can lead you beyond your wildest dreams.


As fans patiently waited in line for their fleeting but magical moment with the legend, one by one they all left radiating with the same glow. JPG was charming, chatty and captivating. It's so remarkable to see that he understands his standing and is humbled by his followers.


And a star he is. Think, what would Madonna's Blond Ambition Tour be without her iconic cone brassiere; or the gender bending fancy of men in skirts; and, a bit closer to home, the launch and success of two Montreal models career, Eve Salvail and Francisco Randez.


Montreal is currently in a Jean Paul Gaultier state of mind as the launch of his anticipated Montreal Museum of Fine Arts exhibition "The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk" begins June 17.


I'm in a fashion crisis of "What am I going to wear?", this Tuesday June 14 is the highly anticipated media event for the celebration of the exhibition. Can't wait!

Savory Sandwiches at Phillips Lounge

I love sandwiches. I used to have them for lunch everyday in high school. Though I'm all grown up now and my taste has graduated from simple bread and cheese, I'm still forever a carb addict!

So you can imagine my delight when I discovered the fine sandwiches offered at Phillips Lounge. Nothing simple here, reflecting their Euro charm, this Montreal resto lounge's sandwich selection will indulge your uptown taste. Made to perfection, you have the choice to add a hearty salad or if feeling a bit famished, have a trio by adding the soup of the day.

Don't eat meat, no worries as the menu also caters to vegetarians!

In the spirit of celebrating the French music festival Les Francofolies, discover Phillips Lounge mouth-watering selection of sandwiches à la française.

Ariane Brunet is part of the musical acts at Les Francofolies. What a songstress! I had the pleasure of hearing her live last fall. If you have the opportunity, you should go hear her sing!

Opened from Monday to Friday, lunch is served from 11:30 to 2:30. For cocktails, the lounge opens from 4pm.

The WANT Apothecary Boutique

When I received the media invitation for WANT Apothecary store opening, I assumed that I would be visiting a beauty boutique. It was and then some. The charming shop nestled in Westmount, offers a neatly edited selection of fashion brands along with lux accessory lines and fine body-care products.

Created by the Peart brothers, Dexter and Byron have taken the timelessness and chic essence of their own leather-goods line WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie, and conceptualized a design that is rich in heritage and refined style. (No surprise on the an amazing eye, their dapper style was featured on The Sartorialist!)

Inspired by 19th-century European pharmacies- think Baldwin Barmacie meets luxes of Holt Renfrew- the look and feel is modern with a classic twist finished in herringbone flooring, marble detailing and custom-design furnishing.

Oh and can't forget the fashion. I loved the selection of Acne, Nudie Jeans, Maison Kitsuné and Aesop beauty brand offerings.
