Giveaway: HUGO Just Different Fragrance for Men [CONTEST CLOSE]

I usually feature fashion and beauty news geared towards women. However, Montreal In Fashion received a bottle of HUGO Just Different Fragrance for Men, and I realized that I might as well step out of the mold.
A follow-up to HUGOMan, the HUGO Just Different campaign features Jared Leto - high school crush from My So Called Life days - holding the sleek fragrance bottle upside down. Quite different! But what makes this fragrance unique are the sweet and fresh notes of mint, basil, freesia spiced with woody scent of cashmeran.

"For those edgy souls who inhabit the urban jungle, Hugo Man presents Just Different: a scent full of irreverence and creative energy."

HUGO Just Different is vibrant, modern and captivating and I simply love it when the BF dons this fresh fragrance. Come to think of it, along with my new fascination of borrowing from my beau's closet, I'll add HUGO Just Different to my own perfume picks!

Because sharing is caring,

My week in Gluttony, T dot, and Love!

No wonder I get the flu so frequently, I can't seem to stay put even on a "down period"! After MFW21 was over, I decided to relax and do purely fun activities. Beginning with partaking in a sassy shoot that was glam glutenous galore! My lovely doll Amy Lee was behind the lens. Can't wait to share the final pics which will be showcased in an exhibition. Watch out for this photographer, she's a rising star.

I'm in love with my puggy Winston. I swear, he has the sweetest aura.

Then it was off to Toronto to accompany the BF on a business trip. It's been a while since my last visit so I presume that's why I was seeing the city differently. I always felt that Toronto was cold, colourless and simply missed the charm of Montreal. I'm not detouring from this sentiment, however my wish would be that Montreal could be bestowed with a similar financial disposition.
While shopping in the Toronto Eaton Centre - which by the way houses not one, not two, but THREE Aldo shoe boutiques within the same mall - I came across this tall ravenette named Alexandra. The slightly boxy blazer, in-season cropped trousers, and platform shoes are a great showcase of  minimalist style. Nice beauty touch for Fall: long chocolate mane, bold brows and dark frames.

Last Saturday was a festivities in two parts: first was the opening of pop-up brasserie CarousseL held at Phillips Lounge. Lots of beautiful people enjoying an evening of gastronomic delight in a charming atmosphere.

Pictured with AngeLo Cadet (on my right), one of the creators of CarousseL, and artist Lukay that now has a popping song playing on Virgin Radio (watch the clip here.)

Then I was off to Lolitta Dandoy and Jonathan Burnham's reception. The radiant newlyweds epitomize the word LOVE. How gorge is Lolli's dress designed by Montreal couturier Helmer Joseph.
Naomi (Sensation Mode blogger) and Amy Lee who can now include wedding photographer under her stylish belt as she captured all the magical moments of the day.

With the gals from Ton Petit Look, twins Carolane and Josiane, along with Anik from Montreal In Style.

Marjorie striking a pose!

Miriam and Geraldine, ladies from blog Paperplanes.

Do you recognize the dress? It's an Anomal Couture creation.

With my dashing BF.

Thank goodness I had the smarts to bring another pair of dancing shoes!

What's next.
I'm organizing an art show at Phillips Lounge featuring pop art from Italian artist Marco Santaniello. The opening launch is next week, which I'll be sure to share.
See the Facebook event page for information on the exposition.

Until the next time...

Montreal Fashion Week SS2012, Nu.I Fashion show + backstage beauty + close-up cam ready

Ouf! My breathing has now been restored to normal rhythm. I think besides the day of my future wedding and birth of my unborn children, Friday, September 9 will forever go down as one of the most exhilarating days of my life. It was filled with tremendous positive emotion that I to keep pinching myself!
As you know, I worked with my dear friend designer Vickie Joseph as the Art Director for Nu.I Fashion's Spring 2012 presentation. What a pleasure and great experience that has ignited a new passion! To be continued...
I deem that we put together one hell of a show. So why the nerves? Well for one, that morning I shot a promo video with the team of 33MAG. I didn't know what to expect- would I freeze with a dumbfounded deer-in-the-headlights look; would I unexpectedly lose the ability to speak; or worse, would I laugh uncontrollably! Luckily none of the above occurred. In fact it went pretty well and I enjoyed talking in front of the camera. They later filmed me running around backstage getting the Nu.I Fashion show prepared. I'll soon share the video :)

The concept for Nu.I Fashion Spring 2012 Femme Sauvage presentation was to illustrate the idea of a modern tribe where members live in a world full of noise but are united by the contemporary beauty of Nu.I Fashion.
I cast models based on their ethnicity to demonstrate that we normally regroup with like-minded individuals that tend to look similar to us. During the show, the Nu.I Fashion muses first strutted per skin colour, but in the end, they blended beautifully together to create a new tribe of glamazon, strong women led in Nu.I Fashion. To sum it up: "To lead, one must present new concepts, new ideas, and have a Nu.I."

Using Cover Girl makeup, head makeup artist for P&G Beauty Amelie Ducharme created the Amazon beauties with the bold eyebrows, golden smoky eye, and sun-kissed glow.

To emphasize the indigenous instinct, head hairstylist for P&G Beauty Denis Binet sculpted hair into a slick bun with a tribal braid beginning at the temple.

Always wanting to add flair to the show, I had the models sport kaleidoscope nails. They were like mini-mes!

Speaking of models, these girls were an absolute joy to work with. They were cast for their beauty but more so because of their lovely demeanor.

I must mention Montreal Fashion Week's behind-the-scene crew that ensured the vision was executed as per concept: from lighting, to music, to dressers, to coordination- THANK YOU!

A much deserved glass of champagne! I'm all smiles standing next to Nu.I Fashion designer Vickie Joseph and business partner Claudja Joseph. We're all clad in her creations!
