We all know that Hervé Léger's signature design is to accentuate the female form. The lineup for Spring 2013 did so and much more. In a rodeo of an artful expression, the collection quilted a luxurious vision of bandage-y styles that were crochets and embellished with appliqués. A palette of white, nutmeg, and grey offset by steel blue and black coloured the collection. Bodycon they still were but infused with a creative sobriety thderiving from the source of inspiration: the stunning African-American quilts created by the women from Gee's Bend, Alabama. With this artistic notion, it was a delightful nod to the feminine strength.

For Spring 2013, the BCBG woman is a bona fide femme. Epitomizing the duality of bold and beautiful, it was a lineup of soft and fluid frocks harnessed with graphic bodices. Ladylike lace created a textured pattern to a world of luxury. The whimsy flowed with silk and printed dresses juxtaposed by structured leather of oversized jackets, shorts, and midi skirts. The marriage of the two created a soft and strong collection which channeled the true meaning of a woman's power.

As most of you know, I recently spent a week in the Big Apple attending the IFB conference as well as taking in some of the Mercedes Benz NYFW Spring/Summer 2013 shows. I always considered myself style inclined, but NYC has somewhat enlightened my fashion spirit to a broader world of swag! What I've noticed, style is all in the details – it can make an outfit go from drab to fab. But in every stylish closet, I feel there are staple pieces that can seriously produce a copious amount of rocking outfits. One of them is a pair of well-fitted skinny jeans. Acting like a grown-up legging, the slim style is perfect to wear with voluminous toppers which is so #InFashion right now.
I was approached by the good folks at Old Navy to collaborate with them and feature The Rockstar Jeans collection. Uhhh, yeah! A great pair of skinnies is so hard to find especially if you have lady curves like moi. Either they make you look like a sausage roll (very no no) or they’re pseudo and simply deliver a bore straight leg. As their tagline states, The Rockstar Jeans are “A perfect fit for every body”. I like the way that there's enough stretch to flatter the derriere all the while having enough structure that creates a very "Supper Skinny" leg. Besides the great cut The Rockstar Jeanscome in a plethora of shades. My colour choice is in jet black which is perfect for when I want to be clad in All Black Everything!
Until October 3, 2012 you can snag a pair of The Rockstar Jeans at only $19 (original price $44.50). The collection also comes in corduroy which is great for a fall look.
Need more proof in the pudding? During NYFW, Old Navy hosted Fit for All Rockstar Fashion Show in New York where women had the chance to be a model for the day and strut their stuff.
These are the styles that were #InFashion and spotted at the Independent Fashion Bloggers latest two-day conference held a couple of weeks ago in Soho New York. As the saying goes Bloggers Do It Best and style did they ever bring!
Here are some of my fave fashion bloggers' outfits.
