FASHION JAM 2013 IN BLACK+WHITE

As mentioned last week, myself along with four other Montreal bloggers headed to Quebec City to attend the 7th edition of Fashion Jam held January 18, 2013 at le Centre des congrès de Québec part of the Snowboard Jamboree
For my first foray coveting the event, I was amazed by the magnitude of the production. There were a total of 51 models that strutted on a 150 feet runway while showcasing 18 fashion brands in front of a 2K+ crowd!
The visual effects were so captivating that regardless of where you were positioned in the room, you had a beautiful view.

Kudos to Artistic Director Ysabelle Mercier for her impeccable job! Check out the Montreal In Fashion Facebook Album for a backstage view on the looks. I especially love the unique style of wrapping pearls over the model's hair.

Nothing short of a rocking party, this one-of-a-kind fashion event captures the streetwear spirit of the snowboard culture.
I snapped this lovely lady while she was on her phone. She later told me that she's a snowboarder. I think that's beyond cool!

Gabrielle from Dentelles & Fleur rocking the crop top like no one's business!

Carolane from Ton Petit Look in full convo with one of the models featured in the Uranium SS2013 campaign.

I pleasantly discovered the Quebecer label Teaspoon which became my collection crush for the evening. Biker bad-ass with an urban edge, the line is designed with bold prints and a unisex vibe that has all the makings for me to covet. I got to hang out with some of the crew and they are definitely cool peeps!

Barilà also put on a pretty showing with their hipster-esque collection of soft denim dresses, chic onesies, and slouchy-cool silhouettes. It truly captured the effervescence  style of La Montréalaise woman!

Beaming Gaëlle from Le Blog Mode. She was a delight to have has a roommate!
I appreciate mixing a glam gem with an effortless piece. Great look Lolitta from Fashion Is Everywhere!

Uranium ceased the moment to state a manifesto on true creativity. Bravo!

Lifetime Collective, Plenty, and Burton also made the event a fashion shower!

I came across this tatted dude and fell in love with his sweatshirt. Newly founded, the line is called Young Ghosts Clothing and founded by the guys from the band The New Cities.
They offered me a crop Tee of my own and I went directly to the ladies room to change.

The night ended on a top note with Montreal DJs SHAYdaKiss and A-Rock having everyone dance till the wee hours!

A warm Thank You goes out to Gestev and the Quebec Tourisme Bureau for the invitation to travel with Via Rail and to be welcomed at Hôtel Pure and the Hilton Quebec. My stay was a blast and I would gladly accept to attend once again.
Congrats on a successful event!
